Crowns and Bridges

How many visits are required for crowns and bridges?

You will require two dental visits to have this procedure done; one for the preparation of the tooth and another to fit the new crown and/or bridge

Teeth Whitening

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, it is proven that hydrogen peroxide bleaching agents are safe and effective when used by and under the supervision of a dentist. Teeth whitening is a low-risk procedure with little side effects.

Are there any side effects to teeth whitening?

The most common side effect is tooth and gum sensitivity, however, Philips Zoom at-home whitening products have two mild desensitising agents to minimise tooth sensitivity. These are potassium nitrate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate; however, your dentist will ensure that only the required amount of whitening formula is used for you to achieve high-quality results with as little sensitivity.

What is the difference between over the counter whitening solutions and Philips Zoom?

With over-the-counter whitening products, they are not customised to your needs as an individual, however, with Philips Zoom, the whitening process is customised to your needs by your dentist. Philips Zoom includes custom-fitted trays for at-home treatments or a suited light intensity and duration while in the dental surgery.

How long will my Philips Zoom Whitening results last?

Whitening is a temporary solution to eliminate existing stains, and with the consumption of coffee, soft drinks or even with natural ageing, it is possible for discolouration to occur again. Philips Zoom at-home whitening products include ACP, which has been proven to combat recurring discolouration. After a course of Philips Zoom whitening, it is recommended to whiten again every 6-12 months of your first whiten for one to two days, to maintain the whiteness of your teeth.

What causes teeth to discolour?

There are various causes of tooth discolouration. The most common causes include the consumption highly coloured foods and drinks, such as berries, coffee and red wine. Some medications, ageing, smoking and trauma can also contribute to the discolouration of teeth.

Do implants hurt?

You are well looked after by our dentists and rest assured that there will be minimal discomfort. Your procedure will be done gently by our professional dentists and a local anaesthetic will be used so there will be little irritation while the extensive procedures are performed.

Braces

How often will I need to have my braces adjusted?

Generally, patients are seen every 4-8 weeks, but this can change for each individual.

Are aligners comfortable to wear and what material are they made of?

Aligners are made of safe medical grade thermoplastic polymer called SmartTrack. SmartTrack’s custom-engineered design gives the aligners high elasticity and allows the aligners a highly precise fit and better tooth movement This will then provide a gentle and constant force during treatment. The aligners are engineered to give yo results while maintaining comfort throughout your treatment.

Is Invisalign treatment suitable for me?

Invisalign has been successful in treating a broad range of teeth straightening issues in cases ranging from middle to severe.
